The front of the house

We’ve got a house!

Posted on 05 August 201413 September 2015

After hunting for weeks, and looking at loads of properties in the area, we’ve finally found our dream house! It’s an old, but not too old, house on the outskirts of the village. It used to belong to a doctor, and has obviously been well kept, compared to a lot of other buildings we’ve seen. The land is a bit smaller than we’d wanted originally, but looks like it will easily do for what we want. We saw the house on Tuesday 29th July, got a friend who knows more about buildings than we do to give it the once over. He was happy with the condition, so we put an offer in the following day, then paid for the house and got the keys on the following Tuesday! One week to buy a house.

So how much land were you looking for? If you dealing with Permaculture a small space can produce quite a lot. Looking forward yo your call. Bless, Umoja

I think you are being very brave and I have the utmost admiration for you both. Yes, it looks like a lot of work, but no worse than the cottage I took on in Wales. You will soon have it looking just as you want it and then what?
Workshops? Holiday lets? Lots of animals?
The very best of luck in your new adventure.
That picture of Julie is great! You look so relaxed :~)

It looks fantastic, you already have the type of boiler you wanted and there are already preserves on the shelves!
Can I ask how much such a great property set you back?

The house looks fab in a ramshackled way but you wouldn’t have it any other way, looking forward to seeing how you make this house your home for many years to come xx

Hi Carol, it was completely as you see it; furniture, clothes, crockery, tools, everything was left. It’s been a treasure trove for us!
